My Monday woman wanted my pocket change She had a date with the hairdresser man But I don't want no woman if her hair ain't longer than mine She'll be a no-good doney if her hair ain't longer than mine My Tuesday woman knocked upon my door But when I saw her haircut, I asked her to go 'Cause I don't want no woman if her hair ain't longer than mine She'll be a no-good doney if her hair ain't longer than mine My Wednesday woman took a walk around the block I believe she went to the barber shop But I don't want no woman if her hair ain't longer than mine She'll be a no-good doney if her hair ain't longer than mine My Thursday woman, she was young and fair Until she just cut her hair But I don't want no woman if her hair ain't longer than mine She'll be a no-good doney if her hair ain't longer than mine My Friday woman, she loved me all last night But with that short hair, it just doesn't feel right 'Cause I don't want no woman if her hair ain't longer than mine She'll be a no-good doney if her hair ain't longer than mine My Saturday woman, she just left My Sunday woman's hair just rolls and flows around her breasts And I want that woman 'cause her hair is longer than mine You know huggin' and squeezin', it just feels right I don't want no woman if her hair ain't longer than mine I don't want no woman if her hair ain't longer than mine She'll be a no-good doney if her hair ain't longer than mine

The last dream exploded in the heat of the night Things can go wrong when you try to do right But you can count on me with all my might Big, dark clouds swing down low Don't tell me what I already know If you can't catch the wind, you'd better make it blow The earth cracks open when I come around Rain starts to fall and floods the ground Switch on the TV, here comes the news With my head bowed down I reinvent the blues Stars twinkle bright in the midnight sky As the moon casts its silvery eye I'll be your anchor when the tide gets high The road ahead might be winding and steep I'll be your guide through the valleys deep The journey is tough, but the reward is sweet The earth cracks open when I come around Rain starts to fall and floods the ground Switch on the TV, here comes the news With my head bowed down I reinvent the blues All I know is you're somebody who Makes me feel glad, feeling sad thinking about you My heart sings a melody no one else ever knew The earth cracks open when I come around Rain starts to fall and floods the ground Switch on the TV, here comes the news With my head bowed down I reinvent the blues

We walk the streets at night, Berlin, summer heat With you by my side, who could have foreseen What the future would bring, for you and for me We walk the streets at night, Berlin, summer heat I pull you close, Berlin, springtime rain What do you want the most, maybe I want the same Something we do not know, it's a new kind of game I pull you close, Berlin, springtime rain This city changed who we are, who we were This city changed us for better, not for worse This city turned the calm into a whirl This city made me love this girl The look in your eyes, Berlin, autumn leaves It's no surprise that I lose my grief I leave it all behind, set my worries free The look in your eyes, Berlin, autumn leaves This city changed who we are, who we were This city changed us for better, not for worse This city turned the calm into a whirl This city made me love this girl Sun rises, Berlin, winter dew Even if the world's in a crisis, nothing's gonna happen to you We get older, but the day is always new Sun rises, Berlin, winter dew We get older, but the day is always new Sun rises, Berlin, winter dew

Who did it, who's the one to blame Who did it, who's the one to blame Who's given the blues a bad name Hear what they say, see what they do Hear what they say, see what they do Just let them talk, if they want to Some say I should, some say I don't Some say I should, some say I don't I can't decide if I will or won't Who did it, who's the one to blame Who did it, who's the one to blame Who's given the blues a bad name I read it in the papers, it sounds so strange I read it in the papers, it sounds so strange Same old story, just the names do change All the people I know have taken different paths All the people I know have taken different paths Too many to count, I've never been good at math Who did it, who's the one to blame Who did it, who's the one to blame Who's given the blues a bad name Some point their finger, others make a claim Some point their finger, others make a claim Guess who's given the blues a bad name I hold on to what I've got I hold on to what I've got You say it ain't much, but I think it's a lot Who did it, who's the one to blame Who did it, who's the one to blame Who's given the blues a bad name

I do sleep in my clothes Don't know the difference between a lily and a rose I bought her a coffee to go She wanted me to stay, but I'm a man for the road I wrote a letter to my girl Just a few lines from the other end of the world And here's my wedding vow I'm sorry, darling, but I'm a man for the road I'm a man for the road, I'm a man for the road I'm off with the breeze If I stay too long, I'll fall down on my knees I just put on my load Keep the track ahead because I'm a man for the road I'm a man for the road, I'm a man for the road I can feel the dust I had a few dollars, but now I'm bust I lost my shoes and my coat But I don't care because I'm a man for the road I'm a man for the road, I'm a man for the road That's what I call my job I'll never have much money, Lord, but I will see a lot And for sure I'll never bow That's the pride of a man for the road I'm a man for the road, I'm a man for the road So here I am with a glass in my hand Sitting in a bar with my friends Those who stay true to me while I'm on the run I raise my glass and say, “This is your song.”

about

If you seek some of Europe's finest blues and roots artists, songwriters and guitarists, look no further than Germany's Bad Temper Joe. While honoring the old bluesmen from the Mississippi Delta, Bad Temper Joe brings the blues into the 21st Century – and does so with excellent songwriting, a powerful performance, and staying true to the tradition. With songs as raw as they are haunting, the grumpy blues bard has gained attention in the blues scene over the last few years, receiving numerous nominations for blues awards and winning the German Blues Challenge in 2022. But the German has also already been making waves in the international blues scene, and was the only European Act to reach the finals of the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. As the British Blues Matters Magazine put it, “It’s hard to believe that the sounds of the Mississippi-Delta have relocated to Germany, but they have.”

With “At the Villa,” the talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter delivers a remarkable acoustic EP. Following his albums “One Can Wreck It All,” “No Filter (One Take Radio Recordings),” “Glitter & Blues,” and numerous recordings with various formations, this release refocuses entirely on his distinctive voice and virtuoso play on the weissenborn lap steel and resonator guitar. The five original compositions were recorded as raw as possible in the unique atmosphere of the Vita-Villa in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, without any artificial elements or post-processing. Despite the minimalist sound, which may appear less contemporary, BTJ successfully crafts a fresh and captivating blues EP. The purist yet warm sound immerses listeners, making them feel as if they are present during the recordings. The charismatic musician once again showcases his unique skill in composing and writing, drawing from the blues tradition while presenting an originality that stands out in Europe.
